SDCC 2012: The Hobbit Teaser Poster

If you are a close friend of Peter Jackson (through Facebook) like me then you would know that this morning he posted a quite stunning SDCC teaser poster for the Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.  Warner Brothers is expected to be holding a Hobbit panel on Saturday July 14 in Hall H for roughly three hours.  I expect now that shooting is complete on the movie they are going to start off the media blitz at SDCC and continue throughout the year.

I’d imagine there will be a lot of Hobbit talk and merchandise reveals at SDCC this year.  We already have our first new 6″ toy as a Toys R Us exclusive, an clear “invisible” Bilbo.  Since Toybiz is long gone a company called Bridge Direct is producing the toys for the Hobbit.  There will be both a 6″ and 3 3/4″ scale series.  At Toy Fair Bridge Direct didn’t have any toys to show but they did say they were going to try and make the six inch line work as well with the old Toybiz figures as they could.  So check out the picture we have of Bilbo and check back later this week as the Hobbit news starts pouring in.
