Toy Fair 2015 NECA Pacific Rim

Toy Fair 2015: NECA Pacific Rim

There wasn’t a whole lot of new stuff shown from Pacific Rim this year, but NECA still has some pretty big plans for the franchise.  At Toy Fair the following figures were shown:

Otachi – Should be out any day now!
Series 6 Horizon Brave – Spring 2015
Series 6 Reactor Blast Gipsy Danger – Spring 2015
Series 6 Otachi Baby (6″ Scale) – Spring 2015
Chibi “In-Movie” Replica Figures Set – SDCC Exclusive 2015
18″ Striker Eureka – Spring 2015

However, despite only a few new figures being out there is actually a whole mess of Pacific Rim product planned for the year.  We got to speak with Randy Falk for a short while and he couldn’t stress how well Pacific Rim is doing for them.  They have at least five Jaegers and three Kaiju planned for this year.  Some hints of figures to possible Jaegers to look for in the future are Brawler Yukon, Striker Eureka 2.0, and Crimson Typhoon 2.0.

Now let’s take a look at a pretty early SDCC announcement with the Chibi Replica figures set.  If you don’t remember the first few minutes of Pacific Rim then go ahead and take a look at this screencap:

The Chibi characters are as follows (left to right): Romeo Blue, Hundun, Karloff, Trespasser, and Horizon Brave.  The set looks pretty damn accurate to the source material.  Wouldn’t you say?  Also we are going to need some serious Karloff in the main Pacific Rim line.  This somehow turned into an editorial piece really quick, anyway enjoy some pictures from NECA’s Pacific Rim Toy Fair display!  There is going to be some amazing stuff coming later this year.

  2. I’m glad pacific rim has been a great line for Neca. Guillermo del Toro made a point to mention how well the toys sold when he announced the sequel, animated series, and comic books. That he specifically mentioned them makes me think that Legendary has taken notice of the licensing potential, and that it really helped get the sequel greenlit.

Great coverage of Toy Fair, btw. I don’t think any other website has such comprehensive coverage (at least, not of the stuff I care about) accompanied by such good pictures.

    1. Thanks man! I had a blast at Toy Fair this year, got to meet a lot of new people, and got to see a whole mess of things. It’s been grueling getting these updates out though. I’m almost ready to go back to doing reviews to break it up a little 😛
