NYCC 2015 S.H. Figuarts TMNT Ninja Turtles

NYCC 2015: S.H. Figuarts Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

This one came as quite a shock, licensing out six-inch(ish) scale Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle figures?  It looks like S.H. Figuarts will indeed be bringing us some cartoon inspired TMNT figures.  And it doesn’t appear that their plans stop at the four main turtles.  At the Bluefin booth they conducted a survey and one of the questions was “which TMNT figure should we make next?”  I voted Shredder.  My buddy David voted April.  April will probably win.  I’m okay with that.

This set of four is quite an amazing depiction of the 90’s cartoon turtles.  Even down to the cross eyed looks!

There wasn’t any stated release date as of yet, but I’d assume Q1 or Q2 2016 would be a safe bet.  The figures are quite articulated.  Maybe even too much?  I did notice as I was taking pictures that Michelangelo fell backwards and one of the Bluefin booth attendants had to fix him.  He was flopping all over the place.  Of course these are also prototypes so they do have time to iron such issues out.  I also can’t think of a Figuarts toy in my experience that had chronically loose joints.

I’m in on these bad boys … well at least depending on the price.  Bowser has me a bit worried that across the board prices could go up.  If these are around Power Ranger MSRP of $40 – $50 each then I’m in!  I’m probably in anyway.  Turtle Power!
