Fans Toys Announces FT-16 Sovereign and FT-17 Hoodlum

On top of all of their upcoming figures in development, Fans Toys has two (and possibly two in addition to that) more Masterpiece scaled releases to reveal. First up is their take on Galvatron, which will be FT-16 Sovereign. Not only are they showing Galvatron, but also teasing silhouettes of his two best buds Scourge and Cyclonus. If the rest of the crew comes true it will be great, but I do seem to recall we also got a silhouette of Jetfire and noting has come of it since.

There was just recently a third-party Galvatron released, so I am interested to see Fans Toys’ take on him and how they compare.

The other announcement is a little puzzling to me, to be honest. FT-17 Hoodlum is their take on MP Hot Rod. Yes, Takara Tomy JUST announced an official Hot Rod for early 2016. So, what is up here?

I’m not exactly sure. This looks like an early render, so I doubt that they got blindsided by Takara’s announcement. Are they attempting to make a better proportioned Hot Rod than the official one? Hoodlum brings up a lot of questions that I hope will be answered in the coming months. He does look really good though. Maybe he can provide an option for the people that weren’t over the moon on the new MP Hot Rod.
