Bridge Direct: The Hobbit Wave 2

Things have been pretty tight-lipped since The Bridge Direct’s Toy Fair showing of their action figure line based on The Hobbit.  We saw some great looking toys at the show but were left to speculate as to what the official lineups will be for the second wave of the series.  We still don’t have all the details from Bridge Direct, but we have a few more to share along with new press images of some of these new releases.

Bridge Direct Azog - The Hobbit
I’d imagine things will come to a head with Azog in the next film.

The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug also known as the second series from Bridge Direct will drop on October 15, 2013.  The line will continue in both 3 3/4″ and 6″ scale.  Here is what we have thus far:

The Hobbit 3 3/4″ scale series:

  • Single Packs will include Radagast, Thranduil, Azog, Beorn, and Gandalf.  MSRP on single packs will be $7.99.
  • Mirkwood Pack: Legolas, Tauriel, Thranduil, Fili and Kili.
  • Thorin Oakenshield Adventure Pack: Nori, Ori, Dori, Gloin and Thorin.
  • Bilbo Baggins Burglar Pack: Bifur, Bombur, Bofur, Oin and Exclusive 3.75″ Invisible Bilbo.

Note: All multipacks have a $29.99 MSRP.

The Hobbit 6″ scale series:

  • Single packs will include Radagast, Azog, and Legolas.  MSRP on single packs will be $14.99.

So that’s the latest update on the Hobbit line.  We also got a few new pictures below courtesy of Bridge Direct if you care to check them out.

They also confirmed there will be an SDCC exclusive, no info as to what it will be or what scale it is in.  If I had to guess I would almost prefer they go with a 3 3/4″ scale exclusive, they have a really varied world going with that line and it would be great to flesh it out more.

Unfortunately for 6″ fans there is not much new information here.  However 3 3/4″ fans get a handful of updates including stuff we have not yet seen such as Beorn and Thranduil.  We will also complete the company of dwarves which I am sure a lot of people wanted to do.  We also found out where they were going to put that 3 3/4″ invisible Bilbo.

So that is what is up with Bridge Direct and The Hobbit.  I’m sure we will see more exciting things come SDCC so stay tuned!

Looks cool, I would’ve gotten in to the line if I bought a couple of figures from wave 1. Hey no errors on this one! Looks like Laurence’s first column went kapootis

  2. Yes!!! i have been waiting all along for these guys and 3/34 scale figures and 6′ and i just wish that Jon had released pics of the actual new 3/34 ones like Beorn and Thranduil but that’s great about them as at least we have some new characters for the D.O.S movie and hopefully Beorn comes in bear form as he does on the first ‘An unexpected Journey’ poster and hopefully pics from the SDCC exclusive will be released in order to keep us aware of who it is and what scale. Thanks Jon for this piece of info this is what i have been waiting for a long time!

  3. Hey guys just to keep you informed The SDCC exclusive is possibly this very figure we have all been waiting for… Smaug!!! yeah i know it’s great and i just heard the news today that it could well be him and that pics of him will be released in a few more weeks! So stay tuned for more details!
