Toy Fair 2015 Hasbro Transformers Devastator

Toy Fair 2015: Hasbro Transformers

I’d been fiending to get a look at the new Transformers ever since that bald man in Germany stood in front of Devastator for far too long.  So being that my annual tour assignment is the My Little Pony group, I can not confirm nor deny that I may have taken a detour and went straight to the Transformers area.  Transformers easily had the largest amount of showroom real estate this year, and with good reason.  The Robots in Disguise show is blowing up, Combiner Wars is going strong, and Rescue Bots have a gigantic transforming boat!  Robots are popping these days and Hasbro had quite an impressive collection of reveals.  So let’s get right down to it.

Leader Class Ultra Magnus:

I know quite a few IDW fans that are pleased as punch about this announcement.  Ultra Magnus is an all new sculpt that comes complete with Minimus Ambus, the man (robot) inside the Ultra Magnus armor!  For those of you who didn’t want to import the Masterpiece Ultra Magnus this is probably going to be your definitive version.  His trailer can hold deluxe (and maybe smaller Voyager) figures for transportation.  The cab also opens up to reveal a spot where Minimus can be stored.

Ultra Magnus will be available Spring 2015 at a MSRP of $44.99.

Titan Class Devastator:

The big guy is finally here!  Hasbro’s largest combiner ever puts six Voyager Scale Constructicons together to form an 18″ Devastator.  This thing is massive, imposing, and easily stole the show.  The individual bots are all chunky, and yes some have slightly hindered articulation.  However, the construction vehicle modes are all completely on point.  This is probably as good as it gets if you want a giant-sized Devastator for your collection.  Everyone can spot flaws, but on the whole Devastator is a superb Transformer and will make an amazing display piece.

I’ll be getting him without hesitation.  Eventually I’m going to have to find a way to make a home out of my gigantic transforming robots.

Expect Devastator’s box set to ship this fall at a MSRP of $149.99.

Voyager Class Cyclonus:

Using the Combiner Wars Silverbolt body as the base, Hasbro has managed to make a very convincing Cyclonus.  Again I’m sure some IDW fans will be very happy while others may be slightly annoyed that one of his horns isn’t cut off.  Regardless, since Cyclonus uses the Silverbolt body he is also able to become the torso of a combiner unit forming Galvatronus!

Cyclonus is expected to ship around Spring 2015 with a MSRP of $24.99.

Combiner Wars Defensor:

Hot Spot was one of my highlights of the show as well.  Not that I don’t like all of the Protectobots, but Hot Spot was firstly a surprise, and second a very well done robot.  Both of his modes look excellent, but that bot mode really stands out to me.  It’s so well proportioned and sets himself apart from the other Voyager Class combiner torsos.  The entire Defensor Protectobot set will include Streetwise, Blades, First Aid, Rook, and Hot Spot.  It’s a very well done set with new tooling that sets it apart from Superion and Menasor.

Hot Spot and his Protectobot buddies will all be available Spring 2015.

Check out the rest of the shots we took of Hasbro’s Transformers booth at Toy Fair 2015.  Some of it upcoming and some already out.  Hasbro put on another amazing show this year, and we were glad to be a part of it once again.
