Marvel Legends Ant-Man Bulldozer

Marvel Legends Ant-Man Series Bulldozer Review

We’ve been anxiously waiting on Bulldozer since the Rocket Raccoon build-a-figure wave way back in 2013!  Originally Bulldozer was supposed to be a running change figure that they would swap out for Wrecker in that series in later case refreshes.  Like most of the proposed running changes from 2013, the refresh never happened and the figured disappeared into obscurity.

Sometimes these figures just end up getting forgotten over time like Blade, Songbird, Savage She-Hulk, Rescue, or Mandarin.  But Bulldozer was a special case because he completed a team, the Wrecking Crew.  And with Marvel Legends this is extremely rare to have a correctly uniformed team completed.  So he was never really forgotten by fans, and quite often the concern for his future was brought up at toy shows.  The answer was often times, “we are looking into it,” which is a pretty general response.  But in the end they did keep him in mind and he found his way into the Ant-Man Marvel Legends series.

I have to give Hasbro credit this year because they have really tried to put out a lot of those canned 2013 figures.  They’ve pretty much done every figure including Jubilee from her original defunct build-a-figure wave.  It is a real shame however that their hands are tied on the X-Men characters because of Disney’s pettiness.  Otherwise we’d possibly have that white Jean Grey, Songbird, and Rogue in our collections by now.

* – Apologies in advance for the Ant-Man wave because I did not take any boxed pictures.  I considered it, however, I really wanted to rip these open to mess with them when my camera wasn’t ready.  Not a big deal since I’m sure most of you have seen the carded shots by now.

Bulldozer is essentially Piledriver and Thunderball with select resculpted appendages.  The head and shoulder armor, belt, wrist bracers, hands, and ankle cuffs are all new.  The Wrecking Crew is made up of four giant dudes with almost exactly the same build and little tiny Klaw.  The reuse really doesn’t bug me with Bulldozer because it makes sense for him.  I’m also a big fan of when they use this body because it really feels like a value compared to some of his other wave-mates like Giant Man (who isn’t all the giant).

He doesn’t include any accessories except for the Ultron build-a-figure arm.

This year (if you plan to buy every Marvel Legend, and why wouldn’t you?  Don’t be a casual!) we’ll complete the Wrecking Crew, comic Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as the entire Age of Ultron cast.  That’s some pretty solid team building by the Hasbro Marvel Legends team.  The entire Ant-Man wave is hitting in full force and can be grabbed off Amazon, but be warned that Bulldozer seems to be the one to go out of stock first.  Of course Entertainment Earth also has cases available which should be shipping soon.
