McFarlane Toys Fortnite 7-Inch Quadcrasher Vehicle Review

McFarlane Toys Fortnite 7-Inch Quadcrasher Vehicle Review

Having my head far too entrenched in toy news makes it so that I’m rarely blindsided by the unexpected. However, this one surprised me! I knew the McFarlane Toys Fortnite Quadcrasher was slated for this year, after all, we saw it at Toy Fair. There was even an Amazon listing with a November ship date. However, I didn’t expect to walk into my local GameStop and see them on the shelf already.

I’ve been doing this toy thing for a long time. So usually when I walk into a store I have a general idea of what to expect to be on the shelves. I could probably count on one hand the few times I ran into something I absolutely did not expect to find at that place and time. I suppose I can add one more to the list now!

The Quadcrasher could be considered the first vehicle in the McFarlane Toys Fortnite line. I’m going to consider it the first, at least. I say this only because they did release a pair of gliders, but I would label them more diorama pieces than vehicles since they don’t really move. The Quadcrasher moves. All the wheels work so you can take your figures for a ride, or just plow into them with the vehicle’s giant front plow. Whatever makes you happy!

It’s a fairly simple vehicle. The Quadcrasher can move forward and back, but there is no steering or hydraulics. The only other real action feature is that the brake-guards around the handlebars move around. The back of the vehicle has peg holes to assist with figures standing on the rear platform, you can fit about two guys back there. For the most part, the 7-inch Fortnite guys sit pretty naturally in the driver’s seat. The limited forward motion of the hips can come into play, which can cause a figure to be slightly above the seat. However, this also works out as a decent riding pose.

I paid $29.99 for mine at GameStop. However, if you can save five bucks if you wait out Amazon getting theirs in stock. I guess it just depends on how quickly you’d like to get your hands on the Quadcrasher. My GameStop got a pair in, and I’ve generally not had a hard time tracking down newer Fortnite figures.

Would I suggest McFarlane Toys Fortnite Quadcrasher?

I think that really depends on how deep you want to go in with this line. I’m all in, but I know most people are the casual “I don’t play Fortnite but love the designs” type. The Quadcrasher maybe slightly large, but it could also make a fun ride for your Marvel Legends scale figures as well if you aren’t into Fortnite. At the price of $25-$30 it really isn’t a bad price for a larger scale vehicle.

I found it really fun. Eventually, the Quadcrasher will find its way onto my display shelf and help add some diversity and pizazz.
