Fans of Quentin Tarantino are anxiously waiting for his latest film, Django Unchained the debut on Christmas day 2012. We all know NECA has a long history of making figures and various other collectibles from prior Tarantino films so this announcement would come as no surprise. NECA has the license to do a full line of consumer products for the new film which includes action figures, apparel, and accessories.
NECA has announced their first project will be 8″ action figure line with tailored clothing and authentic weapons and accessories. According to NECA these will be akin to the figures produced in the 1970’s which started the whole action figure market we have today. They have quite a handful of actor licenses for from the movie as well including: Leonardo DiCaprio, Jaime Foxx, Samual L. Jackson, Kerry Washington, James Remar, and Christoph Waltz.
The 8″ line sounds very ambitious, but I do hope NECA tries to put out some 7″ movie figures under their Reel Toy line. If you recall the work they did on Sin City, Kill Bill, and Reservoir Dogs then you know these figures will be top notch.
