One of the bigger surprises of the Playmates Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event at Toy Fair was the reveal of a line that I probably won’t collect, and isn’t even aimed at me: Half-Shell Heroes. The Half-Shell Heroes line is aimed at the demographic that collects stylized mini versions of the cartoon characters. It’s very similar to Hasbro’s Super Hero Squad or Imaginext, taking a property and making cute two-inch figures with basic articulation. Of course the other fun part for kids is all of the vehicles and playsets, and Playmates brought them in force as well!
They will have the basic two-inch line which will have include the mini-figures, vehicles, and playsets. There will also be a blown up “Talking Turtles” line with the four turtles and Shredder. And finally a giant-sized Leonardo that talks as well. How can you not love those faces?
The Half-Shell Heroes should be hitting shelves around June this year, so keep an eye out! Check out the gallery below to see some great shots of the figures at Toy Fair:
