NECA is pretty much my first “must go” booth at every convention. Even if I’m not into everything they are doing there is always excitement, and the staff there is enthusiastic about the product. Their Alien and Predator lines are nothing new, however. But NECA continues to dig deeper and deeper into the license bringing us amazing figures from our two favorite sci-fi/horror franchises. Let’s dive right in and take a look at what we saw at Toy Fair this year!
The year of Ripley is upon us! The main character will be headlining the next few waves of Alien figures starting with series 4 due out in April. Series 4 will contain the following figures:
Ellen Ripley with flamethrower and Jonesy
Ellen Riply in Nostromo Suit with Jonesy
Dallas in Nostromo Suit
Series 5 has also been revealed to be released this summer and it will include the following:
Ellen Riply (Aliens Version)
Bishop torn in half with Alien egg and face hugger
Red Xenomorph Warrior (From the Genocide two-pack)
Black Xenomorph Warrior (From the Genocide two-pack)
Around the same time as series five NECA will be releasing the Power Loader vehicle. Obviously Ripley from series five is made to fit into it, and now you have a pretty bitching Queen diorama!
It’s been shown before, but don’t forget that the 8-bit Dog Alien will be seeing a release in June of this year. The paint is amazing. And last, but certainly not least, is the giant 18″ 1979 Xenomorph!
It’s been a long time coming, but NECA is heading back into the Alien vs Predator franchise. This time with brand new fully articulated sculpts. Predator series 14 (or the AvP wave if you will) will headline the following:
Celtic Predator (Masked)
Celtic Predator (Unmasked)
It’s worth mentioning that this is the first Chopper figure at this scale, I believe!
Finally we have a good look at Dark Horse Predator and video game appearance City Hunter from Predator 2.
Some amazing stuff from the Alien and Predator universe is coming this year. And we are also being told there are at least two more waves of Alien coming later this year. Along with that are some Kenner inspired and 8-bit variant I’m sure.
