Well, well, well … what have we here? More McFarlane Fortnite toys?
I should go back and count how many Fortnite action figures McFarlane Toys has released this year, but until I do that let’s just concede that there has been a ton! Nitehare was an interesting skin choice because it isn’t one you see very often. In all my hours playing the game I’ve maybe run into it once? It was only sold during a short event in April 2019 as an Easter-type shop item and has yet to come back. Will he ever come back? I don’t know. Regardless of Nitehare’s obscurity, he makes a really neat toy!
Nitehare includes a figure stand and the following accessories:
Back Bling: Floppy
Harvesting Tool: Steel Carrot
Gun: Compact SMG
The first thing you’ll probably want to do after freeing Nitehare from his box is to run hot water or blow a hairdryer over the wrist and ankle joints. The joints on mine were really tight, to the point it felt like I was stressing the pegs. Once the hot water softened the plastic up a bit, I worked the joints and they’ve felt much better since.
All of the McFarlane Toys Fortnite figures have been meticulously detailed, but this one really stands out as all of the tooling appears to be new. The stitches, pouches, chains, and hooks all have exemplary paint detail. But the thing that puts Nitehare’s sculpt over the top is the woven texturing of his jumpsuit. Details like the suit’s texture and little kill count scratched onto his hand really show the love that went into the design of this figure.
Most of Nitehare’s upper body is an overlay that goes all the way from his shoulders and wraps around his hips. Now I understand the immediate reaction to this is to freak out because there is no waist swivel, but please hold onto that thought and let me explain why this is good. Having no separate waist part means that the hips and legs are completely unrestricted! That’s right, you have the full range of motion allowed by the hip articulation McFarlane created for these figures. I was wary at first, but once I got him in hand I kind of love it.
Would I suggest McFarlane Toys Fortnite 7″ Nitehare?
If you are in the market for a creepy looking rabbit man then look no further! Besides loosening up a few joints I have no complaints about Nitehare. Nitehare is not a nightmare! As I mentioned, the detail is incredible, and McFarlane continues to outdo themselves with this line.
